BULL BARS
1. What is the difference between a grille guard, bull bar, hog bar and a brush guard?
Grille guards, bull bars, hog bars and brush guards are the same product. Legend has it that the original designers/users created these guards to prevent paint and grille scratches when driving through high brush, thus the name brush guard. As the popularity of these bars / guards have increased and designs have changed to cover more of the front-end, they came to be known more commonly as grille guards, sometimes spelled as "grill" guards. "Brush guard" can also refer to the light cover portions of a full grille guard
2. What is the primary use of a Bull bar?
Each of the Hog bars Customtruckaddons.com sells has the combined primary use of being a sturdy front-end protector and a provider of heavy-duty looks. All bull bars will protect against scratching from driving through brush, and will provide low-speed pushing power to your front end. However, most manufacturers don't recommend using your bull bar to ram, break or drive-through any kind of objects. And, using your bull bar for pushing could mark the finish or blemish the object you're pushing.
3. How does my bull bar mount to my vehicle?
All of Customtruckaddons.com bull bars use an easy, bolt-on installation design. Your bull bar will mount to existing factory holes without cutting or drilling with most vehicles. Innovative mounts avoid damaging your vehicle and won't affect your original warranty. Each bull bar comes with detailed instructions for installation to your vehicle. Most models can be bolted on in half an hour or less.

Custom design is also reflected in the looks of your bull bar. The bull bars we sell are shaped to follow the subtle contours of your vehicle creating, a stylish appearance without boxy looks.
5. Can I add auxiliary lights to my bull bar / guard?
Yes. The full size bull bar we feature is equipped with a pre-punched light bar that can accommodate fog, driving and hi-beam auxiliary lights.
6. Will a bull bar prevent damage to my vehicle in a crash?
In low-speed dings and minor fender bender situations, a bull bar can be an excellent measure for reducing costly damage to molded bumpers and grille detail parts. Higher speed collisions will mash your bull bar back into your front end, and will not prevent or increase costly damage. And, while a bull bar may prevent low-speed damage, there are no guarantees for what damage it will inflict on trees, guard rails and other vehicles.
7. How do bull bars / grille guards affect deployment of air bags?
There is no conclusive or comprehensive data at this time regarding air bag deployment and bull bars, and opinions vary to say the least.
Forward deceleration of approximately 40-50 G's triggers sensors that deploy modern air bag systems. Since the sensors work on deceleration and are normally located under the hood, adding bull bars should not interfere with air bag systems. We suggest you check your vehicle's manual for sensor location and type to make sure that user-added equipment does not interfere with your sensors.
8. Can I keep my tow hooks on my vehicle if I install a bull bar/guard?
Part of the features of a custom-designed bull bar is that the product will accommodate factory equipment wherever possible. The bull bars we offer allow full use of your tow hooks.

GRILLES
1. What are billet grilles made from?
Any billet grille worth its salt must be tough enough to stand up to the rigors of the road. That's why our billet grilles are crafted only from sturdy, durable and premium materials. The most common material used in billet grilles is aluminum, a rugged and resilient metal that's used in everything from soda cans to space ships. Also, stainless steel is the main ingredient in many a billet grille because it is both incredibly strong and highly resistant to corrosion and rust.
2. Do I have to follow any special precautions while cleaning my new billet grille?
No. You can wash your new billet grille the same way that you would your old one. A bucket of sudsy water, a sponge and a garden hose is all you'll need to keep your billet grille looking spotless. You can, however, provide added protection to your billet grille by periodically treating it with a dollop of Polish. Not only does it bring out the luster of the metal, it also coats it with a protective layer that shields against the corrosive effects of engine oil, oxygen and road salts.
3. Will my new billet grille block my factory logo?
While most billet grilles will cover over your original factory logo, Customtruckaddons.com offers many models that have a special logo cutout. That way, you can still upgrade your grille without having to sacrifice your logo.
4. Will my new billet grille prevent air from flowing into my engine compartment and cooling down my motor and radiator?
No. Even if your new billet grille seems to have fewer openings than your stock grille, it will still allow plenty of fresh air to rush into your engine compartment and cool down your motor and radiator. Some billet grilles are more constrictive than others, but none are totally sealed.
5. How do I install a billet grille into my vehicle?
Billet grilles install in one of two ways: either they bolt over your stock grille or they completely replace it. Bolt over billet grilles use hidden mounting hardware to attach on top of your factory-installed grille. This is the easiest and fastest installation method.
Replacement billet grilles, as their name implies, completely take the place of your stock grille. This installation process takes more time and tools than the bolt over method, but the end result is a cleaner, more integrated look. Often, this type of installation requires some cutting and/or drilling.
6. What is the difference between a bolt over billet grille and a replacement?
The main difference between a bolt over billet grille and a replacement is how they mount onto your vehicle. A bolt over billet grille installs right over your existing grille. On the other hand, a replacement billet grille is an entire substitute for your factory-installed grille.
Because the bolt over billet grilles are a veneer, you will be able to see traces of your old grille through the design of your new one. This is not an issue with the replacement billet grilles because your stock grille won't be on your vehicle anymore.
7. How long does it take to install a billet grille?
Installation time depends on your type of billet grille. Bolt over billet grilles usually install in around 20 minutes or less. A replacement billet grille will take upwards of an hour or more because of the extra steps involved. Either way, you won't have to dedicate a whole Saturday to the job.
8. How do I know that my new billet grille will fit my vehicle properly?
All of our billet grilles are custom-designed for an exact fit on your vehicle's particular year, make and model. Each one has been painstakingly measured and built to strict tolerances using cutting-edge manufacturing equipment and the latest techniques.
